About NorDAC.

NorDAC aims to make this enjoyable, worthwhile and rewarding scheme accessible to young people (14 - 25years) from all walks of life.

This is achieved by giving support and training to current participants and offering information, advice and encouragement to those who would like to find out more. Participants are helped to design their own award challenge based on their own interests, person development and achievements.

Headed by a Project Manager NorDAC’s voluntary team of caring and professional adults run an evening group where young people can be instructed in both basic first aid and expedition skills and have the opportunity to undertake both practice and qualifying expeditions. There are also fun social evenings, the chance for group members to voice opinions and ideas during regular management committee meetings and opportunities to find out more about these Awards.

The group meets at the Barnstaple Youth House.

FREE OUTWARD BOUND COURSES!

NorDAC has information on free outward bound courses available through the Sir Francis Chichester Trust.

The courses are 1 or 3 weeks long and are not only excellent for confidence building but also can be used to complete the Residential Section of the Gold Award…..and they are FREE!
