Volunteering opportunities
As various groups using BYH require new volunteer and paid staff we will post vacancies here, however if you wish to donate some of your spare time to very busy local youth charity or feel that you have something to contribute to the Youth House then please let us know how you can help. We offer training and supervision and have helped many volunteers into employment. So if you want to gain some experience and references then come and see us. Youth Volunteers 18+ There are opportunities for young people to contribute to Youth work activities, administration tasks, fund raising and the management of the Youth House. You gain:- Experience References Opportunity to gain Millennium Volunteer recognition Duke of Edinburgh certificates We gain:- Your energy, enthusiasm and skills Young ideas and youth perspectives on current issues Future activities Get in touch if you think you can help Youth Workers/Club Helpers We have several Youth Clubs operating at the Youth House which are mainly volunteer based. We are always looking for assistance with activities and Coffee Bar duties. All workers would receive a CRB check and help with expenses incurred. If you want to get involved with a club then contact the Youth House for more information. Handyperson With so many little maintenance jobs around the place there is always some work for a volunteer handyperson, if you have experience, a few hours to spare and are willing to help a small local charity, then please get in touch, we'd be glad to hear from you. Trustee/Directors BYH is run by a small team of Trustees with a lot of experience in thier different fields, however, if you feel you can bring something to the Youth House in the role of Trustee then please get in touch with Dudley or Keiron for a chat. I.T. Barnstaple Youth House would like someone to help out with their computers and network. If you know what you're doing and are looking to gain some experience to help with C.V.s and references then please let us know.
